Seulgi Lee has been announced as the recipient of the 6th Park Dongjun Arts Prize in 2025. Established in 2020 by the Park Dongjun Memorial Foundation, the Park Dongjun Prize celebrates the enduring legacy of the late Park Dongjun, a fashion designer and the director of Gallery Bundo. The annual award acknowledges outstanding contributions in both fashion and art, commemorating Park’s profound passion for cultural and artistic innovation. Recognized for Seulgi Lee’s ability to reinterpret traditional cultural forms rooted in regional identities into a contemporary artistic vocabulary, Lee has been acclaimed for her pivotal role in broadening the horizons and possibilities of contemporary art. Her diverse artistic practice spans across regions, including Paris and Seoul, showcasing her unique approach to transcending cultural and geographical boundaries.
The award ceremony and accompanying exhibition will take place on November 7 at Gallery Bundo in Daegu. Subsequently, Lee‘s solo exhibition is set to open on June 24 at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, UK. In 2026, she will contribute to the facade project exhibition at the Guimet Museum in Paris, commemorating the 140th anniversary of Korea-France diplomatic relations. Additionally, she is engaged in research for a public art project at the Grand Paris Express M15 Les Agettes subway station, a groundbreaking initiative scheduled to be unveiled in 2030.

이슬기 작가가 2025년 제6회 ‘박동준상’ 미술 부문 수상자로 선정됐다. ‘박동준상’은 2020년부터 박동준기념사업회가 패션 디자이너이자 갤러리분도의 대표였던 고(故)박동준의 문화예술분야에 대한 사랑의 정신을 기리며 발전시키고자 매년 패션, 미술 부문을 동시에 시상하고 있다. 파리와 서울을 오가며 다양한 지역에서 활동을 선보이는 이슬기는 지역적 특성을 배경으로 하는 전통문화의 양식을 미술적 언어로 번안하는 과정을 통해 동시대 미술의 범주와 영역을 확장 시켜왔다는 측면에서 높은 평가를 받았다. 시상식과 수상 기념 전시는 오는 11월 7일 대구 갤러리분도에서 열린다.
한편, 이슬기는 오는 6월 24일부터 영국 버밍엄 아이콘 갤러리에서 개인전을 개최할 예정이며, 2026년 한불 수교 140년 기념으로 열리는 파리 기메박물관 파사드 프로젝트 전시, 2030년 개통할 파리 근교 그랑파리엑스프레스 M15 레자이에뜨 신지하철역 공공미술프로젝트를 연구 중이다.
