"If mountains and rocks were the framework and roots of the landscape in previous works, my new works in this exhibition are an attempt to expand the space of painting into the realm of non-solid forms: water, fog, clouds, and sky. It was a process where the pictorial methodology shifted from representable to un-representable, recognizable to unrecognizable. The shift was to seek new questions and frameworks surrounding the landscapes and paintings at the point where the subject and the act of painting transform into such a world of impossibility and meets the weather." – Chung Zuyoung
