Yang Jung Uk presents A Little Closer Each Time (2026) in Pale Blue Dot, 2247, a special exhibition on view through November 14 at the West Node Plaza of Incheon International Airport's Terminal 2. Developed around the theme of "art in the space migration era," the exhibition expands the airport from a site of transit into a space for reflection on relationships and coexistence.

Installed beneath the vast dome of the Node Plaza, the work consists of three circular wooden structures in perpetual motion. Rather than depicting specific objects, the work evokes the forms of a planet, a spacecraft, and an incomplete community. The wood, motors, and thread that constitute the installation are designed to produce subtle movements and the chiming of bells only when the components interlock and operate together, symbolizing the interconnectedness of nature and life, machine and civilization, and connection and relationship. By visualizing the idea that a world begins to move only when different beings engage with one another, the work proposes the future not as a fixed destination but as a state of coexistence built together.

양정욱이 오는 11월 14일까지 인천국제공항 제2여객터미널 서편 노드광장에서 열리는 기획전 《Pale Blue Dot, 2247》에서 〈그럴 때마다 조금씩 더 가까워진다〉(2026)를 선보인다. 전시는 ‘우주 이주의 시대와 예술’을 주제로 공항을 이동과 대기의 장소에서 관계와 공존을 사유하는 공간으로 확장하기 위해 기획되었다. 

노드광장의 거대한 돔 아래 설치된 작품은 끊임없이 움직이는 세 개의 둥근 목재 구조물로 이루어져 있으며, 특정한 대상을 재현하기 보다는 그 자체로 행성, 우주선, 그리고 미완성된 공동체의 모습을 연상시킨다. 작품을 구성하는 목재와 모터, 실은 각각 자연과 생명, 기계와 문명, 연결과 관계를 상징하며, 서로 맞물려 작동할 때 비로소 미세한 움직임과 종소리를 만들어 내도록 설계되었다. 서로 다른 존재들이 연결될 때 비로소 하나의 세계가 움직이기 시작한다는 개념을 시각화한 이 작품은 미래를 명확한 목적지가 아닌 함께 만들어 나가는 상생의 상태로 제안한다.
