Gallery Hyundai is pleased to announce a selective presentation of influential modern and contemporary Korean artists for Frieze London 2022. Acknowledged as impactful figures in the development of Korea’s contemporary art history, Gallery Hyundai’s featured artists include Kim Tschang-Yeul, Chung Sang-Hwa, Seung-taek Lee, Kwak Duck-Jun, Choong-Sup Lim, Lee Kun-Yong, Lee Kang-So, Shin Sung Hy, Choi Minhwa, Minjung Kim, Yoo Geun-taek, Kang Seung Lee, Ayoung Kim and Kim Sung Yoon. Our presentation encompasses not only the internationally acclaimed art of the Korean experimental art and Dansaekhwa movements, but also works of artists whose practices are stretching the boundaries between what is considered traditional and contemporary, figurative and abstract, and intuition and narrative. These artists, recognized as pioneers both in Korea and abroad, have steadfastly devoted their practices to cultivating unique voices and sensibilities that critically examine the aesthetic value and social meanings of art through a wide range of media and materials.
